My manual tells me I will hear an accoustic sound when my dishwasher commences its chosen cycle. There is no sound and whichever cycle I choose the light flashes throughout the cycle. Does anyone know if the dishwasher is working correctly even though I am not getting any accoustic sound when the cycle commences?

If it’s going through and completing the cycle with no obvious errors and the dishes etc are clean and hot when it’s finished, then it’s working.

I think what they refer to is the circulation pump/motor which for a time was a magnetic type, it’s now been changed back to a “proper” motor by Whirlpool who manufacture this model for CDA.
