have you checked the mains terminal block for loose/burnt connections?
measured the insulation resistance? Sounds like a high resistance connection or earth fault.March 9, 2007 at 10:19 pm #207329tanner
ParticipantRe: CDA Oven CD601
it sounds like a loose connection at the wall arking or the like it is still the only obviose thing i can think of

240v supply at terminal block ,passes pat test okay ,supply seems okay at wall , wondered if an element was going down under load and acting as a resistor ,which is why I changed the two I have.Customer hopes that CDA will exchange ,I am not so sure.

Have you a wiring diagram for this model?
Is it a CD601SS or CD601/2SS?Andy G.

Did you measure the voltage at the clock, or at the fan terminals when the thermostat was turned on, ie under load, to see if it dropped heavily?

Stupidly no ,I was running so late ,and the customer was of the mind to leave it and he would seek an exchange .
If I go back I will try that thanks GeoffMarch 10, 2007 at 8:46 am #207334BobHope

this is a supply fault most likely on the mains connection box, the nuetral wire or link in the box has melted.

I’d be inclined to have a word with the girls at CDA in the morning and tell them that the fault may be in the house wiring and you’re still investigating. That way they’ll be less inclined to exchange it and it’ll give you a bit more time.
To establish whether it is or not, you could disconnect it from its present supply at the mains terminal box,, connect a test lead to it and temporarily plug it into another socket.
I had a Haier -built CDA dishwasher that needed a pcb. The customer waited 4 months for that; they wouldn’t exchange it, so you’re probably in with a chance of finishing the job..
