CDA rc9620 hob dead?

Hullo,
Was cooking tea tonight and when the timer went off to tell me it was time to put the peas on, I noticed the other veg was no longer boiling.
I then noticed there were no lights on the hot hob display, and after testing noticed no hotplates worked anymore.
The oven however still works fine.

Any ideas on what to check? Is it fixable or will my wife be looking at new cookers next weekend?

Any help greatly appreciated, this forum was great when my fridge packed in a few years back.

Right, I’ve pulled her apart to look for the obvious signs of failed parts, everything is fine until the terminal block where the main feed it split off to other parts of the oven.
The terminal block is corroded where the hob gets power so it’s no longer making contact that explains the lack of power.
There’s a small run of dried liquid under it, so I’m guessing there was a spill that’s shorted it out.
Now to find a replacement block 😉

on further investigation, its not a spill, its oven cleaner that we used before Xmas that has somehow seeped out in a few places. That stuff you ladle into the oven and then let it get on with it, we’ll not be using that again!

Luckily it didn’t die whilst the Xmas dinner was being cooked for the family, even more lucky I guess is it didn’t start a fire and kill us all.
