We have a CDA WC140IN Dishwasher which today is giving error 1,2, 5 which usually implies a water input issue, or blocked filters. It doesn’t appear to be either of these, but clearly a blockage somewhere in the system.
    What we have tried?

    1. Starting a new cycle, we first hear the pump emptying any residual water, then a 2 minute wait, before the water inlet starts (feel the throbbing in the inlet pipe), that stops, then the machine appears to briefly start before stopping with the above error. Filters are clean as a new whistle. There is no water in the machine other than the salt chamber, the arms don’t move (and are not blocked). However when I remove the top of the salt chamber, water which appears to be under pressure floods out. Not an expert, but does this indicate a blockage after the salt chamber?
    2. We have siphoned out the water from the salt chamber. Put some hot water in to see if this could ease any blockage. No joy.
    3. Previously to this error, my wife had added some proper dishwasher salt, and maybe used it 2-3 times since without an error.

Question is there a simple way to resolve the blockage?

its not a blockage and the water in the salt unit is normal.

could be a water sensor issue and the machine is aborting the programme

I would expect the machine to possibly fill then realise it cant sense water, then abort the programme by pumping out first. What this means is when you open the door it does not seem to have filled. either put the outlet hose in a bucket or open door as it aborts to see how much water you have

    Thanks Dave,

I think you’re right. I have taken the front off, and can see the actual process of (i) pumping out first, (ii) then filling (I measured approx 1ltr of water), (iii) then the motor starts, hear a whirling, then stops, beeps, and lights 1,2, & 5 appear on the panel.

So it probably is a float/sensor issue, and as where ever the sensor/float is its not obviously at the front..

We inherited the machine when we bought the house a month ago. My guess it maybe over 10 years old, although probably not used very much as she was elderly and most recently in a nursing home.

If you was me, would you cut your losses and replace, as these integrated units are a bu…r to work on?

    Thanks again

there are a number5 of these unit all made by a manufacturer in Turkey called Vestel.

the part you possibly need is
    https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/42008813-dishwasher-metering-tank
but it would need to be checked

at the bottom of this unit is a turbine which coupled with a reed switch counts the water in. these switches can fail and you can sometimes remove the little board and replace just the switch

cant promise this will cure it as it could be
    the switch
wiring ( had mice eat cables before now)
    or the main board
