ParticipantA personal statement from the WTA Chairman
I like many of you run a business trying to earn a living in this industry ,and am a family man.
The last few days have been very difficult for both myself and the WTA Management team,Thank you for the many emails ,texts, and phone calls offering support.
This situation has caused myself and especially my family a considerable level of stress .
As a father and husband I am no longer willing to put myself and those whom I love under that pressure ,therefore my colleagues on The WTA team have suggested I not respond to site PM’s, phone calls ,text and voicemails but I am contactable by my WTA email address only .
The WTA team to a man ( and woman ) have given me 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} backing during this difficult time and I thank them for it .
I am very proud of what the WTA has achieved and is achieving since its creation nearly 5yrs ago and am equally proud to be its Chairman ,I will still be operating the Chairmanship of the WTA and will still be working hard to achieve it’s hard fought goals .Thank you

ParticipantChairman Statement
I for one would feel very isolated with out the WTA.
This valuable resource would not exist with out the hard work of the management team and personally I don’t know how you do it.
To then have unnecessary pressure add to the point of effecting your home life and no doubt your health is unacceptable. So please accept my appreciation for every ones hard work and I hope this whole affair is in the past and we can all get back to enjoying the benefits of the WTA.

I’m going to try to be as brief as I can be here.
The past week or so has been, will we say, frazzling for some.
It has been particularly hard on Lawrence as he’s taken flak for things and, been accused of things that aren’t just untrue, they’re so far fetched they’d be better off in a novel by Jules Verne!
Even although you might know it’s not true, someone screaming about it in a “public” arena and besmirching your name and character is not nice at all. All the more so when your kids see you freaking out, storming about like a loon raging mad due to some comment, you’re too busy to even talk to your family or, they simply read the texts or emails that you left onscreen as you stormed off and wonder if there’s any truth in it.
You’re up to all hours answering emails, trying to find out what the devil is going on, dealing with cretins that won’t listen to reason and generally fretting about it all.
I don’t think that people often realise just how stressful this stuff can be at times. And, how much distress that stuff like this can cause to people and, not just directly.
Especially for those like Lawrence that, so far as I am concerned, are way above being treated in the way displayed over the past few days.
Fair play though, you didn’t give in.

I feel reassured by the way in which this has been handled by the Chairman, with full integrity and a carefully measured response.
It would have been easy for him to attempt to “Fight fire with fire” However, that would have fanned the flames.
It was patently obvious someone had abused a position, was given the opportunity to quietly deal with it, and yet another option was embarked upon by said perpetrator.
One thing I learned a long time ago:- In business you never make enemies on the way up, as you will probably meet them again on the way down. I hope the instigator of this whole affair will take that on board.
We are an incestuous bunch, and tend to keep bumping into each other many times via different routes and through differing work providers, manufacturers and insurers. I suspect someone will be looking at their feet in future.
