    lol @ Iadom…and thank you…..

Do you know if this includes the “tub seal” referred to in the comments below the part in the parts list. If we’re going to recommission this machine we might as well do it properly, so we may need the brass bush on the drum shaft also referred to in the text….
The spider seems OK, and I know we have replaced that in the past as well, in addition to the motor and the door hinge, and several sets of motor brushes 🙂
It’ll be like Trigger’s broom soon.
I will also get a belt for the Indesit, thanks for that reference as well, in case we need a standby again in the future.

I always change the tub front seal, the old one is likely to leak if refitted.

The brass collar is part of the drum spider and shaft assembly. it is not a separate part,

Thank you again Iadom, I’ve ordered the parts, and will lool forward to the end of the week when we can spend some time fixing it again, along with the 2nd hand belt off ebay to test the other machine.

I knew you wouldn’t let me down, and I’m constantly recommending this site to friends and forum members alike……

I wouldn’t waste any money on a second hand Indesit belt, they are cheap enough new anyway.

This belt is what is known as a stretchy belt. When new it is a very tight fit and difficult to get back onto the pulley. When it ages it becomes stretched and will often fall off the pulley on a spin cycle, refitting is a waste of time, a brand new belt is the only option.

49p and 99p postage, instead on £7.49 I think….we just want to see if the machine works at all before buying a new belt 🙂
