Changeing eproms

I am just wondering if it is possible to take an eprom from one module and fit it to an other module?

I have a module that is a bit worse for wear (tracks blown to bits etc) can I take the eprom from this and fit it to a spare board that I have.

Is it just a case of desoldering and re-soldering?

Is it an Indes4it or what type of appliance are we talking about? I personally wouldn’t bother unless they were the plug in type eeprom.

Sorry I’m talking about Hotpoint/Indesit type specifically on a WF machine.
