Changing Brushes

HI All,
I have a Bosch WFF2000 washing machine which is displaying an error code (4 Flashes of prewash). So I am looking at replacing the carbon brushes.

I have taken the back off the machine and located the motor but I cannot see any manufacturers labels on it. I can see the two brushes but I am unable to release them easily… not to mention they are in a very awkward position.

So to my questions..
Do you have any tips on freeing/removing the brushes.. I have attached a picture.. pulling the connector in the direction indicated doesn’t release them. Sorry for the poor picture but its taken looking into a mirror as the brush location is difficult to get at.

Should I take the motor off the mount to get at the brushes? There only seem to be two bolts holding it. If so do I need to know anything about getting the tension on the band correct when I put it back.

Very easy job,once you can see how to release the brushes, and made much easier if you take the motor out. Take a look at this youtube video…
