Bought a new washer now, but as my wife and I are splitting up I figure this is a quick way of making sure we have two washers – repair the old one! So, how do I do it? I’ve had the back off and can see the one bearing, but how to get to the second one is a mystery – I assume the spider needs to come off, but how do I get access to the screws as they are in the side and don’t look too accessible? Just how much torque do I need to use on that star bolt on the pulley as it doesn’t want to move? Do I need a bearing puller as stated in other posts about bearing replacement?

I know you can’t give specifics, and that it is all “at own risk”, but if anyone could email me a few pointers (or better yet a service guide) I am at hellraiser1@blueyonder.co.uk. Much obliged to ya! If you got any PC problems you want fixing in return, I may be able to help 🙂

you hve not picked an easy machine to start on all the bolt have an anti shake compound on them to prevent them comng loose. the pulley bolt grips hard and will have to be freed off first with a hammer and drift. as for the rest of the bolts you lay the machine in the best position to access but be careful i got 4 stitches when the spanner broke on one of these
you will not need puller just gentle persuation
