I’m managed to get contact with the guy, who appears to be a genuine guy who maybe made an error of judgement when setting it up. He’s already removed all my 10 articles I found so far, and is happy to remove any other plagiarised content reported to him.

I was feeling left out as I had not received the e-mail even though Find my Engineer had my e-mail address, just checked and find that my Virgin mail client has quite rightly dumped it in the spam folder. 😛

Just speak to him… He has not stolen anything with intent! As per Andy’s post above, there is a reason why there is some copied content on his forums which he was COMPLETELY unaware of until I raised it with him.
Again as per Andy’s post above, he is obviously MORE than happy to remove copied content.
As for signing up in ‘Droves’… I’m sure he’s aware that isn’t going to happen overnight 😉

Oh so that explains why he ignored a mail sent by me well over a month ago and the contact made to his hosting company then…

The guy Luke said to try and compensate for the situation he would be happy to link to my site in his recommended sites section. I declined, thanking him but saying I wouldn’t expect him to do that because at the end of the day if he’s trying to build a forum then linking to an established one doing the same thing would be competing with his.
There are other potential explanations for why your email was not answered K. I have no idea, but possibilities I can think of include –
He never received it. If it contained a lot of example links it could have got trashed or maybe it was sent to an address no longer used
He received it but didn’t know how to deal with it – maybe he panicked and put head in sand
He received it but it had a tone that didn’t incline him to respondI’m only speculating but try and cover all possibilities with my speculation. He didn’t reply to my email either though it wasn’t sent to the luke@, which did get a response. My impression is that Ade actually talked to him and helped resolve this issue.

In all honesty I’m not all that interested Andy and, the original complaint I made was sent to the published support address, which I would expect a response from as if it is published, it should be monitored without any excuse.
So far as I am aware the message was delivered, there were no errors.
Due to no response to that request a message was sent to the hosting company.
I received a response from them but not one from the site owner.
I’m not all that interested anyway as it appears to be just a link farm really to get affiliate links in front of people as, other than that, I can’t see any business model. I don’t earn enough from affiliate links to be all that concerned by it in any way.
And the site is not registered as a business which, if it performs any commercial purpose at all is a breach of Nominet’s rules. Which means that on the face of it, it’s just some kid in his bedroom playing about with this when he’s bored of playing games for all we know.

Yep that’s a few more more possibilities K. I’m just saying I don’t like to make judgements based on assumptions or circumstantial evidence.
