Chest freezer not freezing – food thawing – help!

I have a large chest freezer in my garage. The make is Esta but there is no model name on it. It is fairly old.
The fuse in my garage tripped, when I turned it back on the freezer was working but the ‘Alarm’ light was on.
There is air coming out of the side vents but the freezer is not freezing and already bread in the freezer is starting to go soft.
Any ideas for a quick fix?

It depends how long it was off for ?

It may have almost defrosted and is now working to regain the low temperature.

Thanks for your prompt response.

I have decanted all the food into my small freezer and a friend’s freezer.
Puddle in the bottom of the freezer and frost falling off the sides, so I don’t think it is re-freezing.
How can I be sure? It is a very big chest freezer, how long should I leave it running empty, to test if it is freezing again?

24 hours should do it, if after that it’s still running but not frozen then it’s probably had it’s day to be honest.
