KeymasterWell it’s only however many shopping days till…
… aww, you know.
Anyway, I keep getting asked about a Scottish UKW meeting and I keep getting asked about The Lodge I kinda thought, why don’t we do both?
So here’s the rough idea, we have a meeting, one of the informal ones, at The Lodge on Loch Lomond coming up to Christmas as well as a Christmas night out. Thoughts, comments?
I don’t think I’ll get any “no’s” from the people that were there this year as a good time was had by all. The views and saunas weren’t bad either. 😉

Correct, the hotel staff and the setting was fantastic 😆 The only downside was cost, so I think we need to take firm numbers for a block booking to try and force costs down?
IIRC it cost £160 for the missus and I for bed/breakfast and the Christmas function which might seem a lot. If you take the function portion out of the equations the price probably drops the B&B price to £50 a head.
I have been in hotels over the years that had much better rooms / facilities ( none with a sauna in the room though ) but never have never been in a hotel with a better setting and the staff were fantastic ( ask Dave about his sandwiches 😆 )
The wife and I will be there.
John
PS: the view does wonders for the hangover next morning

Indeed, service beyond the call of duty to serve a plateful of sarnies well after the restaurant had closed, and on the house as well 😀
Damn cold having a fag though, best get used to it after July I guess….

No worries Bill,it’ll be nice to see you there.
If you want to go we really need to book places, as in book them so that you can actually go and we know this. My psychic powers aren’t too good. 😉
If you PM Tracey using this link then she’ll get a spot booked for you.

KeymasterSo, come on then folks it’s a good night out and there’s always banter, especially the more booze is fed to the directors! 😆

Right got in contact with the Hotel last night to enquire about the 1st Dec but that is no longer available now, which leaves us with the 8th or 15th Dec. It does go to show you that people are already booking for Christmas so if you really want to go to this Hotel we have to do something about it now or we are looking at another venue i’m afraid. :rolls:
I have spoken to Kenneth and i am not going to book anything until i have an idea of numbers. So i would need to know who definitley is wanting to attend and what one of the above dates would suit the majority. 🙂
Here is a link to the Hotel we are hoping to go to for anyone that did not get to last years.

Are you talking about a one day or two day event?
I might make this with this much notice

Well… it can be either or. 😕
The main event is the Saturday night but some people (John Mac etc.) like to get in a little more drinking time so they got there on the Friday night. They’ll all tell you that it’s to see the scenery or relax in the sauna, but we know the truth. 😉

I will admit to having a couple of shandys with Dave on the Friday night, isnt it amazing how fit the women looked after our respective better halfs went to bed. :rotfl:
BTW The only reason I went up on the Friday was to give Dave a lift from the airport to the hotel, Honest….

KeymasterNo not yet, i asked the Hotel to get back to me to see if there was any party nights at the end of Nov but they have yet to reply. Although the Christmas brochure comes out this month so the girl said she would post it out to me, will wait for that to arrive and then take for there.
