Went to a CI555w on Tuesday with a reported fault of lights on but dead, a quick check of the motor and found that the carbons were down to nothing. I was all set to see if I had a set that would fit when I noticed that two of the plugs going on to the control board had been ripped off taking the pins with them, looks as if the motor must have jerked on it last legs and stretched the harness pulling off the plugs.
So I ordered the board and carbons and goes back today and fitted both to get the same fault. I then did a resistance test on every component and found all to be ok but machine still dead. I had now been there over an hour and am kicking myself as I wanted to get this going as the lady has a toddler and a mountain of washing needing done.
As a last resort I took the motor off again and after a quick visual check I kicked my self up the arse, 35 years experience in this job and I forgot to put a wire back onto one of the carbons 😳
That is why I have the SIG below :rotfl:
