ParticipantHi,
I was replacing a timer on this machine and pulled off the connector that is situated at the lower edge of the pcb looking down on the timer whilst in situ.
Unfortunately it was not a connector but a plug on link. I let go of it and it fell to the base 😡 . I am now not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain which way round it went as it can fit both ways.
If anyone can supply a cct diagram it would be appreciated or if you have fitted plenty and remeber which way the loop of wire pointed ie towards the casing of the machine or inwards to the centre of the machine, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Laurence

E-mail on the way. 🙂
Jim.
Second time in a week that I have had to dig out old hoover manuals from the garage, nobody want a wiring diagram for a Hotpoint 1504 or an 1850 then. 😆

Chris.
Got one of them, and one for a 1500.
Laurence, I agree the later Hoover diagrams from 95 to 98 are poor. 😥wilf, according to the diagrams the variable speed control says ‘export only’ but it appears from the diagram to be at the bottom 😕
EDIT. found another page for machines with a single pole door switch.

for some annoying reason I cannot scan the page you need, worked fine half an hour ago, not sure if it is PaintShopPro or my Hp psc playing up.
If you can find out what the spin speed of the machine should be then here goes.
From the edge of the PC Board inwards, terminals are 500,800, 1000/1100.1200 & common, your block will have a link between either 2 & 5 (five being the end of block) for 800 rpm, 3 & five for 100/1100 rpm, or 4 & 5 for 1200 rpm.
HTH.

Thanks Fellas,
The important point on your discription Jim is that one of the links on the connector is at 5 (the edge of the pcb). The wrong way round and it would`nt. The machine is a single pole switch.
Thanks for your help.

Terminal five/common is five in from the edge Laurence. 😉
Common is at the end of the connector block.January 30, 2006 at 10:51 pm #162778laurenceuk

Thanks Jim,
I note the sequence and how you differentiate between edge and end.
