    Hi 🙂
Ive been asked to do some work for the county council and they have asked for bank sort codes and over normal info which I gave them but they are now asking for ”your unique tax reference number (issued by the Inland Revenue) in relation to CIS status” ❓ does some one now what this is about ❓

    Re: cis status

CIS, is mainly for contractors within the construction/ building industry, and is a sort of PAYE scheme, whereby tax is deducted at source, prior to payment being recieved, would not apply to this industry normally, unless doing maybe a lot of kitchen installations, etc which could be classed as Building works. HRMS website explains more.
