I inherited an Indesit IWE7145 B UK C when I moved into my house. I’ve no idea how old it is but it looks pretty old.

I’ve had a few problems in the past with clothes coming out dirty and/or a bad smell coming from the machine. I thought it might be because I usually wash most things at 30 or 40 degrees, and so I have used Dr Beckmann Service-it Deep Clean a few times in the past which seemed to resolve the problem. I also used the Dr Beckmann Service-it about a month ago.

I did a small underwear wash on Sunday, using the wool programme as there is no delicate or hand wash programme, and the items came out dirtier than they went in with dirty marks on them that look a bit like sand. So I used another Dr Beckmann Service-it Deep Clean on a 90 degree wash thinking that would sort it out, but I washed the underwear again this morning and it has come out dirty again. I can see there is some chalky residue inside the washing machine seal, and some black stuff under the seal, but I can’t clean either off. I’m not sure if I need to get someone to come and look at the machine, or if the machine is just old and needs replacing.

Also, I don’t know if it is significant but the last wash before the underwear was my partner’s trainers. I thought it might have been left over dirt from them making my washing dirty, but given it is still coming out dirty after the Service-it Deep Clean on 90 degrees, I don’t think it can be because of the trainers.

Not that old for certain machines but for an Indesit it is.:(

This machine has a totally sealed outer drum so any problems inside the drum would require a complete drum assembly, totally out of the question.

It could be a snapped or corroded drum support spider, very common on machines subjected to low temp washes., is it noisy on spin?

Yes it’s noisy but I don’t think it’s any noisier than any other washing machine I’ve had!

TBH not the best quality machine, even when new, sadly the marks and deposits do suggest a drum support failure.
