Apparently this is a common problem with this machine.
I found a bit of information on cleaning a capacitive touch screen which involved using window cleaner on a bit of toilet paper to clean the surface.
For the sake of £200 I had nothing to lose so gave it a try.
So Mr Muscle window cleaner, a good clean then dry and so far so good.
As an appliance that is used in kitchen users hands are going to leave deposits on the surface and this I guess could cause problems.
I’m just keeping my fingers crossed and money in the bank for now.
