ModeratorSorry but don’t have any other description or model numbers.
A longstanding customer who has a large business selling second hand clothes.
For many years they used to have a bank of 5 or 6 Hotpoint top loaders to wash these items before resale. Due to the lack of spares etc most them died out some years ago so apart from doing his home, domestic machines I have not visited his work premises for many years.
He now has three of these top loader, ex launderette machines and one of them has packed up whilst still full of water.
He wants to know if there is an easy way to drain it out before he moves it?Jim.

JLA are the service agents so perhaps a call to their service dept might help?

most american top loaders exit there drain hose through the rear at the top Jim so no gravity draining, the only coinamatics I have seen were ones where they were a wrap round cabinet and you had to pop two hidden tabs along the front of the lid and then you could access the drum top,the only way to drain them was to syphon the water out of the drum with a piece of garden hose

Thanks Lawrence, sounds a bit like the big Whirlpool top loader set up. I did suggest to him that either scooping out the water or syphoning was possibly the best way forward.
When he told me that it had been like this for over six weeks I decided I would leave him to it. :eeek:

I advocate using a wet & dry vac for the procedure .. This usually works a treat on the likes of twin tubs and dishwashers.

Most “commercial” top loader commercials have a front which comes off,two screws low down and then hinge the front up.
