Cold fill only on Hotpoint WMA56

We’ve just moved house and there is only a cold supply for the washing machine. Our Hotpoint WMA56 has always been used with hot and cold supplies. Looking at the instruction manual, for cold-fill only we need an adapter “from our Hotpoint dealer”.

Can’t imagine there are many dealers around who would have anything for a machine that old 🙂

Can anyone tell me if I need anything more complicated than a screw-on blanking cap for the hot inlet?

Hi

Both hot and cold need to be connected for the machine to function correctly.

Simple solution is to fit a Y piece. There are cheap plastic ones around but I prefer to use a brass one more expensive but much more durable.

Or fit one of THESE you might be able to find them a little cheaper if you Google around. 🙂

Just ordered the Y-hose since the supply pipe is too close to the wall for the brass adapter.
