To be fair, the clearance has to go somewhere…

yip straight back to where it came from when the customer discovers there newly acquired auction skills has landed them a pile of s{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} .

used to work for them, and been at the firing end of auction customers many a time…

they also badly damaged ones on it as well.

went to one were the customer paiod £50 for a samsung fridge freezer.
As this unit looked as it fallen of the back of the lorry they happily dragged it through the customers house as the appliance had no feet just raw screw ends these all ripped into the customers solid wood floor.

I am called out there as the appliance doesnt stand level.
I told the customer what do you expect for £50.

    Walked out the house laughing.

The machines i’ve seen have been disgraceful. Literally falling apart. One had a cracked outer tub. The customers seem genuinely shocked that the machines aren’t in working order and they believe the manufacturer covers the guarantee as normal.

I think Comet need to make the customers more aware of what they are selling!

If i sold machines in that state i’m sure i would have trading standards round like a shot.

Comet have no damage returns agreement with suppliers (for a buying margin advantage) so have to take responsibility for their own accidents.

They could sell into the trade to a jobber for a fraction of the cost price (and the worst conditioned of it goes that way) or they could punt it out on the web and recover at least the cost price (plus hopefully a bit more) with the added opportunity to sell a warranty on it.

If it was your business, what would you do?
