This thread. and particularly this post:

As I said, I actually had an opinion and backed it with my money. You are still busy waffling. Your problem, not mine.

May I make apologies to you Osamede on behalf of my colleague. It was never intended for any misunderstandings to take place on this issue. We have extensive knowledge regarding domestic appliances across the many and varied ranges available. We know them inside out as it were and perhaps that point was put across rather abruptly in some cases? The thoughts and feelings of a service engineer are a little more down to earth and not necessarily based on diplomacy. I’m sure you will understand. 😉

Enjoy your new Miele machine 😀

Osamede has been a rude and trollish poster in his short membership of UKW, his input into the above thread was both unwelcome and not particularly informed or helpful.

Martin has seen fit to apologise on my behalf for my comments. I have not asked Martin to apologise and resent the fact that he has done so. I have asked Martin to amend his post and he has declined to do so.

If the situation had arisen in reverse, I would have queried it with Martin before making an assumption that it should be apologised for.

I’m sorry to bring this up in here, but none of us has the right to apologise on behalf of any of us, except perhaps for Ken. It’s his site and he can do what he wants 😆 . It’s one thing for us to correct or add to posts in the forums, which we do regularly, quite another to put words into someone’s mouth.

I ask again that the final post be amended or removed.

    Chris.

    Re: Complaint.

    I tend to agree.

I did not say anything on the public thread as all it would have done is to have drawn more attention to it and, after the smarmy reply from Martin I felt it best not to do so. I also did not think to bring it up as it wasn’t my place to do so in some respects since the comment/s were not directed at me and it was a thread I had little involvement in.

With that said, I can see fully why you’d be livid Chris, because I would be if someone spoke on my behalf in that manner. I’m perfectly capable of speaking for myself as are you.

As you say, I too would have consulted first before answering on someone else’s behalf or taken the third-party route of deflating it. Or I’d have just let it disappear into obscurity with no reply to the public poster.

Whilst I may have the ability to do what I like it doesn’t mean that I exercise it. In fact I rarely do, if ever, as I do not hold with doing so. Never have, never will. Although I appreciate the point you are making.

Putting words into another’s mouth is to me unacceptable as well, especially in the manner and the tone used.

    Re: Complaint.

I have already made my feelings known on this issue via a PM to Chris.

I had to severely restrain myself in respect of Osamede, thinking that letting his extreme rudeness wither on the vine was the best way forward.

He posted on a UK dedicated web site, totally neglected to mention in his ‘simple question’ that he was in Norway and then posted several dismissive, rude posts in his original thread and then jumped into a thread that was nothing to do with him.

To apologise to such an individual on behalf of others when you have no direct involvement in the thread and have also stated that you would not be posting in the public forums anymore is way out of order as far as I am concerned.

I think that Martin should rethink his post and amend or remove it.

    Re: Complaint.

Normally though Jim these sorts posts or debates are brought to my attention and I’ll either advise or respond if required. But I do know that a lot goes on between you guys behind the scenes and I’m perfectly fine with that as it works and much can be resolved without the need for me intervening in it.

One of the major things that irks me here is that there was no communication or teamwork involved. This just appears as if Martin went off on one riding in on his white horse and trampled people in doing so.

We work very well together for the most part, I’d ask it remains so as it does work and, works incredibly well.
