    Hi,
I’ve got a Norfrost chest freezer with no start. It seems the black button relay is open circuit. The complete unit on Connect is £48+vat.
I don’t usually do these so a bit of advice please.
Should the relay be o/c and can it be bought on it’s own? I can’t find one.
I’ve tried to fit a Danfoss type but it won’t go on due to a bracket.
    Thanks
    Rob

    Re: Compressor relay

Is it a ptc (solid state) relay or a solenoid type?
If solid state, there should be a few ohms across the ptc at room temp IIRC and a closed circuit between common and the third pin (check Danfoss one to compare). If coil type, open across top contacts until energised.
I think you may still be able to get other universal ptc relays smaller than Danfoss. I’ve got one somewhere, I think, though it only has two pins.
    Mike.
