Would i be right in thinking a 1/4hp compressor would be suitable for an American (Admiral) side by side?

    Thanks

    Re: Compressor size

You need to find the displacement which is in cc’s of the old one, then make sure the replacement is within 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
Just because the compressors are the same horsepower doesn’t mean they are the same capacity.

    Hi Spimps

I take it you mean the cc of the compressor and not the fridge freezer.
This information is not on the old compressor. I was hoping someone may have a cheaper alternative to the origional compressor that they use on the Maytag/Admiral/Whirlpool Side by sides as they are basicly the same (capacity and size of evaporator and condensor wise).

    Thanks

    Hi

the 1/4 compressor will work without a problem if its a r600a but if your fitting a r134a then you will need a 1/3
