I had a new kitchen installed 6m ago with a Lamona integrated fridge freezer. Straight away the fridge had a lot of condensation on the shelves on and underneath each shelf. I had 3 engineer visits who blamed everything from the seal, to the installation to the door itself not shutting properly – a fault they new occurred on a few models.

Eventually they have replaced the whole unit, but the new one does exactly the same which leads me to think its something other than the door/seal.

    2 possible issues are:

    1. the fridge is next to the oven. I can do nothing about this due to the configuration of the kitchen. That said, we haven’t used the oven for a week and when we got back from holiday it had condensed up again
    2. there is no vent in the plinth underneath, which has been suggested.

I have done all the usual checks like ensuring the drainage hole is clear, but the door was definitely slack on the first one. But since this is a second new unit and it still does it, suggests that there’s something underlying that is nothing to do with the fridge. No idea what to do as pointless getting a 3rd new one!!!

Will the vent in the plinth help? Thanks

Re: Condensation in new lamonda fridge freezer

    Condensation is condensed atmospheric moisture.
If the door was shut for a week and lots of condensation formed then the door may not be closing properly and air is circulating through the compartment.
Try disconnecting the outer door from the fridge door for a while and see if the problem goes away.
If it does then it is down to the installation.
