    Hi,

Just acquired an old AEG condenser dryer (t57560) from a friend and they had it plumbed into their washing machine waste pipe so the didn’t have to empty the drawer all of the time. Great, except our current plumbing situation doesn’t allow us to do that, so, my question is… can we use it without plumbing it in? If so, can we just plug in and go, or do we need to do something to stop water coming out of the back of the dryer through the little tube (looks like a fat drinking straw, about 6 inches long). Never had a condenser before, only vented, so I have no idea! Thanks.

Reconnect the drain pipe to the coupling on the back of the dryer. That then diverts the water directly into the water container.

Thanks for the fast response! I rushed out to the utility room to try it but it doesn’t reach! It’s a few inches too short, plus the ‘straw’ is quite stiff and the bit that I assume I’m connecting it too is a black rubbery circle that does line up with the membrane on the water container, but I’m not sure they’ll actually ‘connect’ if the met anyway. Do you think I need some kind of connector or rubbery hose?
