Im looking at buying a condenser dryer, I have researched many different models via here and actually going to the shop (how old fashioned! lol) to look at them. I find that Hotpoint or any variant of the Merloni Company are very flimsy looking and don’t “feel” solid
White Knight were flimsy (ish) especially the door which felt like it would come off in my hand (ooh er missus) 😯
Zanussi, esp the Zanussi TC7102W felt very solidly made, my vented dryer is a Zanussi and I’ve had it for 3 years – still works fine but I need to relocate the dryer and its no longer near a window so a condenser is needed. (Anyone got that model, any probs with it?) Ive also read about drum materials, this model is zinc….is that good? better/worse than steel?
One other thing about the condensers is that we use them at work (all Whirlpool ones) and the filters do not seem to work, most of the fluff bypasses into the area underneath and it gets VERY nasty…….The Zanussi model has a built in filter like the one I have which seems to be very effective (you just wipe your hand over it and the fluff peels off) Once every few months a wee session with the hoover nozzle takes care of any bits that went astray
Whats Zanussi’s overall reliability like for condensers? and are condensers ingeneral as reliable as vented dryers?

PERSONNAL, I don’t like any condenser dryer. They are too complicated, slow, expensive, unreliable and high mantainance.
But if you HAVE to have one, I’d recommend the Bosch, and also recommend buying the most expensive Bosch you can afford to get the greatest quality.
Having said that, I think you should buy a vented dryer and use the window option.

I ditto my colleagues (Goatboy – horrible picture of him by the way) comment, well, kind of, with a exception that the ‘sensor’ (“most expensive”)dryers in the Bosch range do warrant caution. Stick to the basic condenser in their range without the ‘bells and whistles’ 😉
A vented Bosch is best….long live the vent kit through the wall 😆

Try the Bosch WTL6106GB condenser or as Martin suggests in the vented range the WTA4007. They also benefit from a two year parts and labour guarantee as well 😀 .

Good point Martin. The logixx (most expensive Bosch) is a little over the top.

Might be worth looking at the Tricity Bendix condenser dryers as theyre made by Zanussi – pretty reliable and solid, should also be cheaper than the Zanussi version. Personally wouldnt touch the white knight.
