ParticipantHi, I’m looking to buy a dryer for the first time and just wondered what the difference is and which is the better option?
Thanks

If you can easily site a vented one and vent it correctly these are the better option.
They are more reliable and more efficient.
If you do have to go for a condenser, go for a decent one 😉

Thanks – I want to put it in an understairs cupboard – how do you vent them?

You won’t be able to unless the wall behind it is an outside one, the vent needs to go outside.
It sounds like you need a condenser, these don’t need venting as they self condense the water, you just have to empty the water container at the end of every cycle.
Go for a Bosch, Siemens or Miele.

It does back on to an outside wall but assume we’d have to knock a hole in the wall?

Yes you would using a ‘Thru the wall vent kit’ and flexi vent hose between the two 🙂
