first question Why?
the module is supplied by the manufacturer in configured and unconfigured as new. you need specialist software to programme it yourself

there are a number of E90 faults. you are seeing the customers display number but it fall into a couple of categories
I would try the following. find the cables that go between the main board and the display board on the front panel. remove and replace the cable twice to make sure the contacts are clean. be careful putting too much pressure on the wires to the plus as I have had them come out. Do this on both ends of the lead especially where it connects to the display panel as that is where I have had problems myself
if that fails to work then it looks like one of the boards may be faulty and needs replacing

I never did connect this board to the washing machine. I bought it some ago and put it away to keep a spare one. Now that the control PCB on my washing machine is not working at all, I thought that I could replace the faulty board with this one.
What could other faults be related to E90?

in that case I would say the board you have bought is incompatible with the display board on your machine. If you had the production number of the machine the donor board came off we could check if its correct
in the old days if the timer looked correct it would probably work but these days you can have the same board with different software on machines with the same model. When I looked up your model I found there are 6 of them and there might well be more than 1 software version in those 6

I do not know which machine the other board is for.
Below are the three numbers on the label which is stuck on the heatsink of the motor triac:
Type P. 451527007
Type E. 132225524
SW Ver. W4A30127February 7, 2018 at 11:35 pm #453729electrofix

unfortunately that does not mean anything as they use the same board and
re-programme for different models.what happened to old board ?

The old PCB kept displaying E50. I replaced the motor triac but that it didn’t help.

the e50 series of faults is not just 1 fault
e51 motor triac
yes can be motor triac can also be motor with a slight short to earth through either condensation, carbon dust or a motor failure
e52 no tacho signal from motor
mean the motor is not turning could be brushes
e53 motor triac sensing faulty
this can also appear from motor earth fault or board fault
e54 motor relay contacts sticking
which speaks for itselfall you will see is E50 unless you go into diagnostic mode so it could be any of the above

The motor is a brand new genuine Zanussi one which I bought not so long ago.
I think I need a new board and they’re very expensive. Could something be done with the other one displaying E90?

I would be tempted to check the motor wires where they enter the motor plug by giving them a tug one at a time. Had a few where the wire breaks inside the insulation.

I checked and double checked the wiring harness that goes from the control board to the motor several times. What about my new control module that is displaying E90, can it be re-programmed to replace the old one?
