Hi
I use 2 laptops at the same time, and have no problem.
If you make part of an order on one then make an order on the other it asks if you want to merge both orders into one,

As I have said already when I first posted this subject the other week I can see no valid reason why Connect wish to monitor which machines are logged onto their site, having spoken with them nothing that they outlined suggested any reason why machines would need to be logged.
I am now accessing the site with the same number of machines I was previosuly but have had to call them a number of times to enable us to work as we were previously were. Security is at the back of all of this evidently including Credit Fraud being one of the factors put forward to the people I spoke to there. Intresting in itself I would have thought that if such fraud was a significant issue that the site would have been made far more secure and robust using https for starters.

KeymasterRe: Connect
We use the same account on multiple machines with no problem and, TBH, it’s not a thing I’ve come across with CDSL or anyone else as yet.
However, we are on fixed IP’s for the most part.
Spamming and fraud is a big problem though and I can appreciate anyone’s desire to limit their exposure to both. That said, there is a balance to be had.
What I do hope that anyone does is actually design websites properly for cross-browser compatibility and they don’t lock it down to being something stupid like a lot of the spares sites that are IE compatible only… do web designers not know that IE’s share of browser use is now less than 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and, dropping. So, if it gets locked down to one browser platform we’d use it less as very few of us, if any, use IE unless it’s absolutely required and even then we all us it as little as possible. Just because it’s horrid.
Locking accounts down to a particular PC I can understand if the account has perhaps been compromised. But then, you can just change the account login, use secure and obscure passwords and a host of other measures before you have to be Draconian and insist on a total lockdown.
But CDSL’s web dudes seem to be fairly switched on, I’m sure that they’ll suss that.

I have had the same problem with both Connect & Qualtex, a quick phone call to both soon sorted it out. They have to validate ? your account, but it was sorted within minutes in both cases

We used to use one account from two machines one from the horsham branch and one from crawley branch without any problems.
I also use my iphone to login while at customers houses to source parts/prices.
