ParticipantWhat is this industry coming to? anyone having problems with Merloni spares and Connect at the moment?
I have been waiting for over a month for a module (MERC00254535)one of the new smart card types, ordered through Connect who don’t seem to give a toss, I cannot get anyone there to chase it up, same excuse “it’s Merloni” not us 😥 which is a load of ballhooks, Hotpoint have em in stock, Connect don’t 👿 .
I am seriously considering giving Connect the boot. 🙁 I would give Merloni appliances the shove if it wasn’t for the fact that the majority of my repairs are of their brand 😥
I can’t be the only one that is having this trouble, am I? 🙁
Anyone from Connect care to comment?March 16, 2009 at 5:28 pm #280454Martin

A direct account with Indesit Company may be your best solution? Deal direct with the organ grinder and not the monkey?…..just a thought. 😉

What sort of discount levels do they give Martin?

I go direct when it’s out of stock for a protracted period at wholesalers ,hotpoint have a “trade no account” facility.
It’s many years ago since it was set up but I think I had to send some proof, each time I call I give my name and say trade no account, think it’s just 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount and I pay by card.
Not the best deal in discount terms but when you are struggling for a part it’s another option.
Only problem is 3 – 5 days delivery.March 17, 2009 at 12:22 am #280457cornwell40

Hi Mal,
You’ll only get a direct account if you can jump through the hoops, such as a minimum spend and you clear credit checks. It’s not as simple as is made out I’m afraid.
I’ve been watching the news on the Merloni front (both Indesit Company & Antonio Merloni) and it would appear, from what the Italian press says at least, there’s problems in both camps at the moment. Some of it is pure conjecture however but it may explain problems with parts availability.
In saying that, everyone and their dog is on edge right now so it may be that there are issues with the component manufacturers themselves and not Indesit per se.
It’s a special at Masterpart as well, no idea what the lead time is as there’s none given.
I wouldn’t have expected it to be a problem with Connect, they’d just order up the bit as usual and expect it be supplied just as you would. Could be that Connect are ordering direct from Italy and not from Indesit UK and, in any event, Indesit UK could be holding back stock for themselves.
Just saying as, I’ve known it to happen with a few people in the past. :rolls:

Why don’t you get Tony (EMW) to repair and reprogram it? He’s regularly on here saying that they can sort these modules…..worth a go!! It would be a much quicker option.

I suspected this would be the case Ken
As with Connect if the “computer say no” then thats the end of it with them they are not willing to go the extra mile to help.
Bring back the old Partscentre, sorry Washvac days you cold actually speak to someone who cared and would do their utmost to help 🙁March 17, 2009 at 1:42 pm #280461Phidom

I ordered a Hotpoint welded tub assembly on 4th March and it’s still shown as out of stock. I would get it elsewhere but the Connect price is a lot cheaper than the others. Meanwhile, I have no machine myself as I lent mine to the customer when I found there would be a delay. 👿

20th of march the tubs are due in, waiting myself because of the good price.

Surely the point of this thread is to complain about Electrue, and I’d like to do just that! They thoroughly deserve a good, hard kick in the ballards for their level of service.
The only reason they are good, is because they stock the wierd little things other people don’t. Beside that, I can’t think of a good thing to say about them.
Everytime I deal with them lately, something goes t1ts-up, and I don’t even get a sorry from the generic telephone-monkey!
They suck! :protest:
