ParticipantOn the 4/4th i placed a small order with connect for parts for a time share complex needing them in a hurry, so i was charged the delivery charge i ordered at the same time an order to masterpart, i got my masterpart parts next day but no connect, i phoned today wanting to find out what was going on, seems because it was a small order they sent them via Royal snail registered delivery and nobody knows where they are, now they want to resend and charge me all over again and wait see if the original order turns up, i just whish masterpart and qualtex would get their fingers out and stock a lot more products, and i would drop these thieving gits in a minute. Connect are not very impresive when it comes to prices or speed on small orders but they do stock lots of bits. Masterparts new web site is awful search is hopeless and I order even less from them now simply because the web site is badly set up.
We were told how good it would be, in the end the new site is just impossible, in the end it’s ring them or order from connect. I don’t have the time to mess about on the phones from customers or from the van. so they lose out. Connect must be laughing all the way to the bank.April 12, 2012 at 10:17 am #373105stevebunyan

I’m the same, I would like to use Qualtex and Master part more but connects site is so quick and easy to use.
I’ve tried cross referencing connect codes with Qualtex with probable 1 in 10 success. It’s as shame especially now that connect own e-spares which I see as a competitor.

Without doubt Qualtex and Masterpart are running 2nd and 3rd fiddle to CDSL. Sadly IMHO the situation will not change in the foreseeable future owing to the general downturn in the spares market overall. The industry needs growth to expand and that is not likely to happen hence the only option for them is to play around with available trends and turnover margins.
The growth in Internet sales direct to the public has also shifted their attention toward that side of the market anyway. The demand for spare parts there is on the up but overall the trend is taking a downward turn.
Less products economically fixable = less demand for spares = higher prices for spares = less demand for spares = no room for expanding the available range = less stock held = more parts special order = more jobs cancelled……………hardly a growth industry it is fair to say. 🙁
Oh, and Masterpart’s new website is well short of the mark and a bu44er to navigate unless you have hours to spend. Qualtex are better but often you need to get on the phone to your rep in order to get things moving. Maddocks are so last century and still plodding by and the rest are ‘also rans’….. 😈

Masterparts site must be costing them thouseands in lost business,it is possibly the worst trade site, the old one was far better.
Compressors for instance on the old site were no problem to find, had all the info on each one, wattage, cubic capacity.

Masterpart don’t seem that interested in trade customers, for the last 2 months they have been out of stock of the most common fan element going. The website has lost all the technical info, if you search a model number it comes up blank.
Has anybody invested in one of those 3d printers, prints out your own parts, it’s the future.April 26, 2012 at 11:51 am #373109leavemetogetonwithit

Probably be more reliable than some of the pattern parts.
