just tried to fit frg6600 only to find it open circuit got another out of my box this lasted 10 mins I am told that their stock is on hold due to suspected fault. mine are going back and I’ll use vt9 untill I hear otherwise. pity as this stat has a nice white plastic coated capillary

Sounds like one of the Chinese copies. Has it got the Ranco name & logo stamped on the stat itself? I bet not.

We had probems as well, even turning the knob it would rotate beyond the stop position.

Had loads the the blighters either dont work or freezes fridge and never shuts off.

I have had this from 2 suppliers different boes but the same stats in the boxes.

So I think its poss a big batch problem

The frg6600 is a crap Ranco copy, they turn round & round, overfreeze
terminals are loose & bend.

I use Whirlpool W4’s – no problems to date…….

I bought 10 cheap stats from a supplier fitted 6 got 4 call backs so binned the rest and now only use the Ranco ones. Worth the couple of extra quid.
