ParticipantThis module was replaced under warranty about 6 years ago and has, like others I’ve read about on here, blown the connections on the heater relay pins. It looks in quite a bad way but I will have a go at re-soldering. The heating element seems to be insulated and has an internal resistance of 23 ohms.
My questions to the vastly more knowledgeable experts here are:
1) Is there any other component which may have contributed to this failure that I should check before repair/replacement?
2) The single-digit display is absolutely dark – does this suggest (as I think I read somewhere on here) that the circuit board is totally u/s?
3) Can this board be sourced separately or only within the module?Must add that this forum is a wonderful resource – thanks to all concerned in maintaining it.

1/ Relay pins burn out due to an inadequate joint.
2/ Display should come on regardless of heat status – there may be other damage.
3/ The module is supplied as both boards, in the plastic case. £106 plus the usuals last time I checked.Got to be worth soldering it up and seeing what happens…….

2 blown joints on relay re-soldered plus another which looked iffy. 2 tracks had also blown, one leading to the relay, the other on the power input to the board (maybe the reason for the display being dead?). Bridged the tracks, but still no life when re-assembled.
£130 for new module or add another £200 or so for a new machine with an extra 10 years-worth of development which should be more economical and efficient? If the module were only £60ish it might be different, but I think I’m heading to Curry’s. 🙁

Thats the theory, in reality, efficiency is often sacrificed for economy. :rolls:
