Control panel for Miele dishwasher G686 required

When moving house the control dial on my Miele dishwasher snapped off. The spindle has sheared and looks unrepairable. 😥
I have removed the control panel and phoned Miele for a new part but they quote a price equal to that of a new dishwasher! 😯
Are there any other sources of such parts?

Machine = G686SC, white
Part number EGPL552 or T-Nr 05116671

We can get them but they are VERY expensive and not normally an off-the-shelf item, but a mail to Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you a result.
