KeymasterCause what I’m not so sure. 😉
We’ve got some more people who’ve asked for access to here, welcome to the Looney Tunes area of UK Whitegoods. Discounting of course the moderators forum in which the real hard core nutters hang out.
Subtle reminder that in two months I want your money for the pot. Okay, so not perhaps so much with the “subtle”, but the point is made.
However, sadly some people haven’t paid for 2006/07 yet and, to be fair, that’s probably not their fault entirely as a certain accounts dept. didn’t send any statements or reminders. So, if you get one dropping through the door in the next few weeks you now know why.

KeymasterRe: Converts To Cause
Way back, in the dim and distant past when the mailing list was still on the go it was mooted that we start a “War Chest”, essentially a pot of money so that if any member was attacked legally we could have some funding available to help with a defence.
That evolved into what is today, the subscriber’s area and fund.
Sprawled across many threads the question has been asked, what are we going to do with the money? And, time and again, I’ve replied that it’s not for me to decide as I don’t have absolute power over it, you do. The subs decide what to do with the funds as, so far as I’m concerned, it’s your money and UKW only holds it in trust.
Generally though there is a swell of opinion that when something is done with it that it should benefit the good of the site, the good of the trade or the good of the subs. No issues from me with any of those.
But there’s been much talk in here about the subject and please feel free to re-raise any of the conversations or start a new one on the subject.

Personally I am very happy to pay subs just for the information, hints and tips throughout the forum pages particularly those damn error codes.
