Not sure if this should be in the Legal forum but here goes. Had a customer today ask if I can install ducting to her cooker hood rather than just using the charcoal filter setup. She also complained about draughts from an existing extractor fan grille set in the ceiling. I wondered about doing away with the existing extractor and connecting its duct hose to the cooker hood. I know Building Regs require kitchens to have extractor fans but is it acceptable for this to be in the form of a cooker hood? ❓

Yes this is allowed as long as extract rate from cooker hood is suitable for size of kitchen, best way is to check extract rate which is marked on label inside hood, measure size of room in square mtrs go to local council office and ask planning if it will okay.
