I didnt think it would be a problem, i really didnt….

But it would seem my search for a retailer who will supply, deliver and connect a new gas cooker, whilst also disconnecting the existing one and removing it on the same day is a bit much to ask.

    Surely not?

Hughes Direct supplied a cooker, only when i rang to confirm delivery, they explained i was to arrange for it to be disconnected by a corgi reg engineer prior to delivery, then once delivered, they hadnt even booked an engineer to fit the new one, and it would be around 5 days for an appointment. 5 days without a cooker, while the new one sits there staring at me!! Even though i placed the order 7 days prior to the delivery date!!! Microwave meals are not a passion of mine. Bl**y Morons.

So, my question/point/reason for ranting is:

I know the cooker i want, why is it so difficult to get the above? Comet say they can do this, and even though the cooker i want is overpriced at Comet, im rapidly beginning to think i might be forced to go with them after all.

And yes, i have rang corgi engineers listed on the web, it appears no one wants to bother fitting a cooker, since all 3 have not rang me back. (theres no one listed for my postcode in the services section of this site either)

    Rant over.

    😈

Might i also add that if there is a registered corgi engineer who covers the Burnham area and would disconnect the old and reconnect the new, you’re welcome to my old zanussi (zcg900xn) – the current fault is listed in a posting on here from about 3 or 4 weeks ago)..

Re: Cooker retailer, deliver, connect and remove old applian

This is easy to explain 😉

Corgi registered engineers are not as readily available as they once were, most of those that are don’t want to know about cookers as the revenue is much higher from boiler repairs etc.

Also, due to the very high costs invloved in remaining Corgi registered and maintaining your levels of competence ensure that we have to make ourselves extremely efficient to make it worthwhile being registered in the first place so many retailers/customers will struggle to find anyone to install or repair quickly.

The issue with deliveries and installs is that a Corgi registered engineer would need to effectively become one of the delivery people to be able to install at the delivery time, which is not possible for the reasons above 😉

    Dave.

If only you had decided on an AEG, Zanussi or Parkinson Cowan Oven then the local guys from Service Force in Maidenhead (A1 Technical Services) could have installed it for you?
