Try it and let us know the outcome. IME it just does not fit physically. There is just not the space to fit it between the remaining oven stat/regs whatever are each side of it. It may well replace that thermostat on a different appliaction but on those toplines it just wont fit. Prove me wrong as there are a lot of those cookers being scrapped because of it. It is possible to wire over it to make the top oven work on the grill function only…its better than nothing.

You can do it using the diamond H stat. I’ve done 2 quite recently. (both inside 1 week!!!)
Firstly, remove the old stat from its position. Do not disconnect any wires. Then the switch tags that foul have to be bent to clear the stats either side. (bend the top ones up and the lower ones down). The outer ones should be bent carefully at 90 degrees and the inner ones at 60 to 70 degrees.
The amp tags for these conections should now be cut off and replaced with 90 degree amp tags. This gives the critical clearance. 😉 Bend the card insulator round to guard the connections. With care and patience I managed to fit the stat. It was fiddly, but possible. But only with 90 degree amp tags.Hope that helps,
Steve.

Yep, non – challenging straight swap. Beware the numbers on a TA500 are not in any order. (ie:- 3 4 1 2 5 6 across the stat IIRC.)
