    Hi,

We have a ‘Cookers’ built in double oven, mod no. 05-600407 which was installed late 2004.
Last night we noticed a problem with the main oven. We switched the oven on, set the temperature as per normal, however after about 10 mins we noticed that the oven was not heating up. The fan was on, but no heat.
We then went to switch the oven off (using the selector/nob) and noticed that the fan remains on when in grill mode, defosting mode and even if the oven light is only selected !
Does anyone know what the problem is?
    All replies much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Darren

Re: COOKERS dbl oven 05-600407 – fan problem

    Hi Darren,

Fan oven element goosed, very common problem and the replacement should be this one as I think that the model oyu have may be 05-600401 as 600407 doesn’t seem to exist that I can see.

The cooling fan will stay on with the grill. The main fan stays on with the light to give you the rapid defrosting function, some have the fan with grill to offer a feature called “turbo grilling” which I call “the bacon incenerator setting”. 😉

    Hope that helps.

    K.

Thanks for the quick reply !

I should be able to get the part free of charge as we’re still within the parts guarantee (but not labour).
Is replacement of the element something a novice could carry out? If not, what sort of cost range are we looking at for a qualified engineer to carry out repairs?

    Cheers

    Darren

ps According to the instruction handbook we have, the model no. is 05-600407 – p’haps its a similar model to the one u mention?
