ParticipantAny readers tempted by the Coolfreeze web-site and prices, would do well to read my posts headed ‘Ranco freezer thermostat’. Save yourself a lot of grief (and money). Ask the moderators for advice.

KeymasterJaded,
We know and there was no need for yet another thread on the subject either. I know you’re upset about it but there’s not a lot we can do hence the suggestion that you contact the local trading standards regarding the company in question.
There is no trimming or deletion of posts on UKW without good cause to do so, so anyone doing a search on here will find the original thread.
The company is not on UKW as far as I am aware, certainly not registered as a trade account.
I have thought of a “Dodgy Dealers” list but it has to be justified, i.e. many complaints that go unresolved but one complaint could not be construed as justifying inclusion on any such list by any stretch.
Have you looked on the consumer sites like cliktocompliants etc. to see if there’s anyone else that’s had problems with this company?
How much money was involved anyway?
K.

1 Apology.
2 I had never heard of such consumer sites.
3 Money; it started off at less than £20, but after phone calls, lots of recorded delivery letters, post, packing and insurance of returning the wrongly sent item, and then having to go to another supplier, the cost is probably somewhere between £40 – £50. The other supplier is associated with UK W G and the service was excellent. This is partly why I am so irritated; one rogue tarnishes many good.
As a last thought on the subject; I noticed last night that the initial letters of the company spell an appropriate word.

K, Moderators
Will someone remind me, please, as to who the good company was. One of my sons requires some spare parts.

KeymasterJaded,
Just email Dave off the site on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and he should be able to sort most things out for you.

K – thanks.
Dave – thanks. I’m not sure of the details yet, but I believe a rumble from the lower rear of a washing machine suggests bearings. I shall pass on the ‘spare@whitegoods’ to him. I still haven’t got over the fact that you were even able to provide the right length of capillary tube as well as the right ‘stat.
