This is a 90cm Range, electric Double Oven with Induction Hob.
It is only 3 months old. Problem started in last week.
Problem:The Cooling Fan is only coming on after the fascia has got hot to touch, after main oven running for approx 15 minutes at 180c.
But when you shut the oven off the cooling fan stops after 15 mins, the fascia is still too hot to touch.
The LCD display has a liquid crystal corruption on the screen with the pixels because it has been getting too hot.
Prior to this fault developing the cooling fan would start earlier and run until the oven was cold. The fascia was never hot to touch previously.
Their are two cooling fan thermostats, they are marked with 60c. It appears to me that the fan isn’t coming on until both of them are hot enough, but this means that one side of the oven has to get very hot before enough heat reaches the other side.
By experimenting I can get the cooling fan to engage sooner at a lower temperature using the smaller right side oven. To engage the cooling fan with left oven it needs to run longer at a higher temperature. If I run both ovens I get the cooling fan to trigger much sooner. But the Fascia is always hot to touch and the cooling fans stop before the oven has cooled.
I’m in Dubai and the first visit from the engineer did not inspire confidence. They disconnected one of the thermostats, tested it, then applied a lighter flame to it, because they claimed it had got stuck on.
My dilemma is that the cooling fan does engage even if it doesn’t actually cool the fascia enough. My wife and I are very sure that this is a change in the behaviour of the oven, but it will be a challenge to persuade the Engineer that there is a problem. Also all the waiting for heating and cooling makes it even more of a challenge.
Any help appreciated.
