ParticipantI wondered if anybody has some good advice on the best or cheapest way to use call divert from office to mobile.
I have noticed a massive jump in my phone bill since I am now in the position of having to divert all my buisiness calls to my mobile throughout the day.
My sky broadband package is coming up for renewal very soon.

Hi
If you have a BT business line and a BT mobile then the calls are free of charge between them if you link the 2 accounts together, We have a BT mobile that we divert and never get charged for the diverted calls but we never use it for outgoing calls as the cost is more than our other mobile. Go for the cheapest BT business mobile package without any calls or text’s or download.

Thanks for the reply.
Not sure if that would work for me,as I am on a T mobile phone contract, and I also need to use my phone as a modem(although it’s not ideal) to connect my blackberry tablet to the internet ,while out and about.
I don’t use my phone for the internet, because I find it all a bit too fiddly, when trying to internet browse, added to the fact that I am starting to suffer from deteriorating eyesight.

Hi
I use a company called TTNC (VOIP). I buy numbers at £25 + vat then they are mine for good no matter where I move. You pay per minute after that. Because I have no line rental, it works out cheaper and more flexible for me. I go through about £30 a month then about £25 on my mobile.
It records messages and if you can get your emails on your phone, you can listen to the messages for free.
I border two different phone codes so have a number for each area which both go through to my mobile. The local number seems to attract customers who want someone nearby.
You can divert the calls to any number whether it be a landline or mobile at no extra cost.
Hope this is of some help…
Dave

I’m with talktalk :rotl: phone and broadband. For an extra £5 a month, you get 1000 minutes of free mobile calls a month.

I’m with Virgin, we used to have virgin mobile and I wrongly assumed that virgin mobile calls to virgin number is free so I thought it would apply to call forwarding as virgin phone is calling a virgin mobile which should be free but it wasn’t the case. Ended up with huge bills. Most people ring our mobile rather landline so if we are local then we leave the phone unforward except on holidays.
We found it didn’t affect the way people called us if we didn’t forward the call as they often try mobile first then landline.

I used to divert all my landline calls to mobile and it used to cost a fortune. Found a system on Vodafone called One net express on which you can port a landline number to the mobile. Exactly the same as diverting without the divert. So at the moment for landline calls/ mobile calls and all incoming (plus internet) it works out at £68 a month which is a saving of around £60 /£70 on last year.
Orange also do a similar system apparently.Tony

I’m on virgin and my diverted calls used to cost me anything between £30 to £80 a month. I contacted Virgin and explained. I now pay an extra £10 per month for a ‘talk’ package that gives me 200 minutes of calls to any number from my virgin landline. (even those pesky 08 numbers).
As I only ever use my mobile for outgoing calls all the talk time is used for diverted calls, it’s saved me hundreds over the last six months.

Just ordered “call diversion” from bt, costs £3.15 a month + cost of diverted calls. Will have to keep an eye on the bills as I think you can’t tell if diverted call or not. Best plan, keep it short and sweet, just say I will phone back using free minutes.

Lol, ‘short and sweet’.
Try that when you ask some old lady what’s wrong with her machine, and she starts off by telling you in detail what she had for breakfast and what happened at the post office before eventually getting around to forgetting completely what your original question was.
During all this you’ve missed two incoming calls because of her rambling… great fun!November 13, 2012 at 3:38 pm #384211spiderpig

Yip bagman, you need the patience of a saint in this job just to listen to the ramblings of the customers, – yawn. Used call divert for the first time today, 4 calls = solar panels, PIP, van insurance & some foreign gentleman in a call centre whos first language certainly was not english!!! So thats the kind of c**p calls I’ve been missing! Got rid of them all quick, said call had been diverted to mobile and that I was driving. Must try that when at home as well.
