    Hi, I think the bearing and bearing seal on my LG F1622GD5 Direct Drive is starting to go as the machine is making a dreadful squealing noise, sounding similar to this video:

    It looks like the parts are around 25gbp but I understand this is quite big DIY job. How much should I expect to pay in labour if I call out an engineer (I’m in Bedfordshire, UK fwiw).

    PS: Anyone found a good set of instructions or a video if I consider this as a DIY job.

    First instruction would be not to carry on using it until the job is done if you think the bearings are gone, otherwise you will damage more than just the bearings and costs will spiral.

    I must say though, that does not sound like bearings to me
