Thanks Alex.
They went in three batches in an effort to not overload the site, one on Monday, one on Tuesday and another leaves tomorrow. After that all hits the deck there won’t be many people in the industry left unaware of UKW’s presence I hope.
I said to Dave earlier in IRC that a lot of these companies are one-man businesses so they may well not see it until tonight, more will not have access to the internet during the day and still more will be out or busy during the day, so it may take a few days for the full effect to filter through. The effect on the industry WP/Man/insurers when they see or get to hear about it is something else entirely and, at this point in time, a total unknown.

AlexMaybe not close enough.
12 Yesterday, 14 up to 1300 hrs today, that is an increase.
Out of that probably 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} will be serious and use some of the potential, and 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} will hope they get something for nothing without doing bugger all.
Same in all walks of life.

Yeah, big increase in sign ups and quite a few trade this morning alone as well as a general increase in traffic overall. It also seems to be increasing as the day goes on too.
As you say though, probably only 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} will actually take an interest. But if we get 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the total, that’s 450, 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of that being active is an increase of 90 members active, all trade. If the take up is larger the maths gets mind numbing after a bit.
All we can do is sit back and see how it pans out.

KeymasterOkay, so I guess we can now say that it was abnormal. 😉
Thursday is usually the quietest day of the working week!

It certainly was, nearly all the new sign up’s today were trade guys, and the vast majority asked for trade access, nice 😀
There’s a load more that have registered as well but haven’t clicked on the “verify” email link yet 😉

Well the postman has been and gone today and still no flyer hits my coconut matting 🙁
Did any land on my local competitors doormats around these parts I wonder ❓

KeymasterMartin, you don’t advertise in Yellow Pages and that’s why you didn’t get one, not even a free listing apparently. 😉

I had 2 lots. One was addressed to Merloni at this address, stems from the days where we had a phone line installed courtesy of their head office.

Ah! then the system isn’t foolproof then, no wonder I haven’t had a copy 😥
I have and do advertise in Yellow Pages and for over 32 years now. Just go on YELL.COM and type in my business name (Enterprise Domestic Appliance Services)…. 🙄
Ah well 😕

Thanks Ken but I wonder how many other businesses listed in YP’s didn’t get a copy? From the new ‘sign-ups’ I haven’t spotted any of my local competition in the line-up? (out of a potential of 75 in Berks, Hants, Surrey and Oxon I know of) 🙁

Martin, how do you know the locations of the new sign up’s ?
Or are you looking at their email addresses for clues ? Surprising the amount of people that use generic one’s from Hotmail and AOL to be honest and a hell of a lot don’t have websites either.
At the end of the day, a flyer has been sent to 4,500 whitegoods repairers in the UK at no cost to us, even if we only had a 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} take up on that it would be one hell of an achievement, plus, we are still recieving quite a few emails on a daily basis asking for trade access.
It ain’t over yet 😉

KeymasterRe: Countdown
There has been, thus far due to the mail shot, at least 250-350 new sign ups. Now, not all have asked for trade access but that’s only a matter of time or ignorance as we just can’t make it any easier TBH.
We also cannot force people to look at the site or the mail shot.
One thing that is very evident as of today is that there are some people still recieving them now so the chances are there will be more. How many, I simply don’t know. But the point is we’ve already gotten a 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} gain easily on the site, probably closer to 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in terms of trade hit in that mail shot which isn’t too bad.
The hits are definitely up, anyone can see that.
The number of posts being made is also up, big time.
Also due to the posts on the various Repairs@ threads that has also had an injection of new blood onto it, a big plus. There are currently 62 repairers now listed in Repairs@ which cover the bulk of the UK mainland.
I think we’re doing not bad for only just about to turn two years old. 😉

KeymasterRe: Countdown
What you have to remember is that the trade pales into insignificance compared to the public numbers. Its great to have all the trade but what the real target is, is the public.
There’s lots we can do with the public……………..won’t fill you in, not giving anything away.
There are no negatives at the moment, we never expected to build Rome in a day, what we have done is laid the foundations. Most of you will be gob smacked with what we do in the next 12 months, its all so natural you’ll wonder why it hasn’t been done before. We will turn this industry upside down, just come to Sibson in September where the next phase gets an airing.
Whilst we need the trade, the trade will increasingly be unable to not turn to us. This week we have had a sign up from someone who publically said we were load mouths and a waste of space……that he would never sign up to the site, ever. Nice to know that circumstances have changed that opinion, and rather than lambast the man I extend a welcome, education is a marvelous thing…
