1) The cold water supply pipe has split near the supply end. In profile it’s sort of arrow head shaped and has split around the ‘flanges’. a) Is this a standard pipe that I can pick up from a plumbers merchant. b) Does anyone have any repair suggestions. c) Am I going to have to buy a whirlpool genuine spare (which will cost a small fortune – see q2).
2) The light bulb in the fridge has blown. It looks like a fairly standard Fridge bulb, being mostly cylindrical, however the real gotcha is that it’s a push fit with a pair of ‘spade’ connectors. My best quote so far to replace this bulb is about 13 quid! At that sort of price I have to question the need I have to illuminate the inside of my fridge. I’m about to unscrew the lamp mounting to see how easily I can replace the bulb holder. Any other suggestions?
If it matters then it’s an S20 uk model.

It matters a lot Nick 😉
Please post the full model number from the rating plate inside the unit 🙂

I thought that there were only really two models – the s20 and the s25 I thought that the rest of the number was cosmetic (eg black/white/silver).
I’m used to being wrong though – the full model number is S20B-RWW20-A/G.
Thanks.

The hose (for your own safety) must be of “food standard” quality as water for human consumption passes through it.
The correct part from Whirlpool is 481253029199 at £15.49 inc VAT plus carriage.
If you take the lamp to a local electrical retailer it should be easy enough to identify a suitable replacement at far less than the £13.22 Whirlpool want for it 🙂
If you need the hose, drop me an email and I can arrange for you.
Dave.
