How well liked id this in the SF camp?
At a guess, it’s not exactly a bunch of fun getting back what was charge work at insurance rates, apart from the obvious cash-flow impact.
Just asking ’cause there’s a few things going on ATM that may or may not come to pass.

Assume you mean D&G R+1 where the lines are intercepted by D&G Inkfish who tell the customer some outrageous price to sell a “protection plan” and frighten off at least 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of our potential customers.
Where have you been? This was all going on when I attended the UKW meeting in Prestwich Manchester, I think that was 2006? I spent most of the morning session of that day in the car-park on a telephone conference regards all this.
Most of us don’t like it, and we fought vociferously against it. Didn’t manage to kill it but was able to reduce the impact and addressed a few issues.
Looks like we are stuck with it, but it is used by others such as Gias Hoover,Hotpoint etc. Have a feeling Whirlpool as well are on this.

Oh I am fully aware of the system. 😉
What I hadn’t heard was a lot of chatter about it of late.
But I might have happened to mention it to some “consumer rights” people and a couple of researchers or so.
I am trying to get more info on it as, in all honesty, I think it should be outlawed or, at best, controlled in some manner as at the moment it’s the Wild West with this stuff. No controls, no regulations, nadda.

Oh dear.
Looks like I might have kicked a hornet’s nest on this. 😆
They’ve been on the blower several times looking for more and more info and looking to call up one of the “manufacturers” or several to try to catch them at this.
Should be good if they get the nod for it.

D&G and Lux wanted us all to do it at a fixed price, we managed to stop it, but we all moan about them intercepting the telephone calls from chargeable customers !

Seems my speaking up has (again) done me no favours so it would seem.
All work from DAG to NWAR appears to have magically stopped. Mind you, didn’t get off to a good start with that Donna whatever…
But, if they bin me in a way it’s good as I can then say and do whatever I like with complete impunity in respect to DAG. As, if binned, I then don’t give a ****. The worst they can do then is call me names.
What it could do is force the closure of NW though and that might just leave me somewhat bitter and in need of a form of retribution as yet to be decided. But, we’ll see what shakes out, I’m in no rush.
