    Hi,
My daughter’s integral fridge-freezer had a broken fridge shelf so we tried one from an old fridge of mine, and it fitted except for being slightly tight where it slid into the rear shelf slots. Daughter gave the shelf a shove and now there is a little crack inside one of the rear side shelf grooves. Has this made the fridge dangerous? I’ve always assumed the refrigeration part was behind the back wall of the fridge, and that is fine with no damage. (Fridge came with the house so don’t know the make.)
    Thanks.

There’s probably no danger as such.

    But…

Condensation will leak into the hole made and break down the insulation of the fridge if it isn’t sealed quickly and, even then, it may fail. I’d seal it with some silicon sealant ASAP and hope for the best.
