KeymasterMy company of 3 engineers are now so busy, today I have had to make a decision that we now won’t go to a chargeable fridge call, at all.
We have laundry and cooking repairs coming out of our ears and just don’t have the time for fridges. Have to do the contract ones but they are not a large percentage.
Any one else so busy they make Crazy decisions that go against the grain?

I’m that busy we are simply not accepting new customers at the present time.

Yes Kevin , this afternoon I had a school teacher demanding I fit in with her “home after 4:00PM” routine and it gave me great pleasure to ask her to call back when she could arrange to be home for either a AM or PM appointment. Mind you she gave some weird description of her faulty washing machine so I didn`t mind panning her off.
Never been so busy and I`m still moaning 😆

It would appear that silly season has started a tad early this year ! we’ve been flat out busy for the last month. Still we all know that traditionally it all quiet’s down mid Jan. So just go for it while its there and make a buck while you can.

Well bully for you lot then and perhaps you could share your good fortune with your colleagues that may be able to take some of that extra work your refusing 😕
Go on…give them a bell and see if they can help you out? They will love you for it I’m sure and maybe they could help you out in the future should it suddenly start raining ❓

Odd. I’ve been uncharacteristically busy for the last two or three months.
Comes as a bit of a shock after 9 years in this low income area getting used to living on a pittance. Don’t understand it. (Coincides with time I joined UKW but not had time to sign up for repairs @ yet as don’t need more work anyway).
Not looking forward to the inevitable and inexplicable downturn which must surely come sooner or later. ❓
Balanced against the upturn I have to say I’ve a distinct impression I’ve had quite a few frustrating jobs to tackle and rather fewer brush/doorboot/blockage jobs. Still UKW has been a great help there 😀 .

It seems to have gotten busier for us, ever since the TV told people, ‘there’s gotta be a slow down in the econimy!’ (spelling 😳 )
Ever since then, we’ve been doing more big jobs, drum/bearing changes, selling motors and re-con machines 🙂
People listen to that cr@p on TV! 😕

Down here in the sou west it is very busy on the road and in the shop.
Laundry is flying as are dishwashers. Digital products DAB, Freeview are going very well as are DVD Recorders. Ordinary light bulbs, energy saving lamps and the good old favourites the 13w cooker control fluorescent tube and the 40w ses hood bulbs we are selling twice as many as last year.Early signs are we are in for a good Christmas.

I have started refusing dishwasher jobs but that’s just because I hate the wretched things 😈 I stopped advertising in the local rag about 6 months ago so I’m not rushed off my feet but theres not a problem keeping the wolf from the door 8)

ive always found it odd how there can be such big regional differences when it comes to the volume of calls and the time of year, last week was a bit slack but this week its certainly picked up here thats for sure 🙂
february has historically been the worst month of the year does anyone else find this as well ?

It sure used to be but since taking on the Dimplex agency I find we manage to keep our end up through the winter months. Lots of storage heater repairs and some good money in fitting replacements too. £50 for the first and £25 for each subsequent in labour, sales or repairs, in each property. Roll on the bitter cold weather.
