🙁 good evening to you all

had a good day today until I returned home, messgae from her indoors. Can’t open Washer Door!

Get kit out and begin to investigate problem

1] yes door will not open–got door open with a little help from my pozidrive screwdriver.

2] Removes washing and re-fills on final rinse programme, cycle completes and goes into final spin….DOOR NOT opening also notice very noisey drain pump prior to spin cycle operation.

3] Ah not a prob…interlock shot it….Replaces like for like..also replace askol pump motor.

4] Set timer to wash cycle…not an once of action

5]Checks door interlock YES L&N are correct Checks voltage hovering around 190volts and drecreasing …with meter in circuit..slow fill operation begins.

6] Test internal loom..find I am missing neutral from pressure swith connection to door interlock…trace loom further FIND PCB board has printed circuit fault!

7] Board fault looks like high current has caused failure..

8] This is the question(s)to you out there.

a] What has caused PCB toBLOW
my suspision the very noisey and somewhat labouring drian pump was drawing too much current?” her indoors said the wash was not as dry after spin as normal over the weekend

b] Now knowing fault… WILL NEW TIMER solve problem, bearing in mind the other parts replaced.( and the fact its a creda) Or is there another fault I have not identified?

thanks for any help and advice you may have

    Graham,

Looking at the damaged part of the Timer PCB should give you a clue what caused it. It is common for either the pump windings or the door interlock to cause this on the later series of this model.

If the blown track on the controller is the front left one, it’s defo interlock blown it – solder it back in and you’ll probably be OK.

    Re: Creda 17076 washer

thanks guys..yes did try small wire connection to attempt repair..circuit test s ok but no joy in sovling problem..voltage still very variable..more than visible evidance of time fault maybe!

as 3 of us seem to think it was either the pump or door interlock that as caused the problem. I will treat her indoors to a new timer, it is still cheaper than a new machine. Will let you know if it goes POP

    many thanks for your knowledge

usualy leak from door seal onto door lock blows a track off if youve checked all that it maybe the terminals melted/loose on the timer itself …..good luck
