ParticipantHi
After replacing the themostats in the week the dryer was working fine until my son kicked the door open whilst climbing on the worktop 🙄 .
Now the drum does not turn 😥 . The belt is ok. The motor appears ok (not shorted to earth) . There is no power to the motor or the starter. there is however a ticking from the unit under the motor. Any help would be appreciated.

I cannot imagine that would be anything other than a door switch problem, did he break the door or the door hook?

Sorry to add to your thread, but I have the same problem i.e. drum not turning. Fortunately I know what is causing it – the belt has broken.
I have a new belt but I’m not sure how much of the machine will have to be dismantled to fit it. It looks as though the belt has to be fitted round the spindle and the guide wheels somehow. Is there a special knack to this?
thanks

There’s no knack to these condensor dryer belt replacements unfortunately, they are a bit of a nightmare frankly.
It’s a case of take the whole thing apart virtually 🙁
Sorry I can’t be more specific but EU law prevents us from giving direct instructions on fitting parts.
Dave.

Thanks Dave – I rather thought that would be the case. Once I get the drum out I dare say it may get a bit more obvious. It’s just going to take a bit longer than I originally thought 😕

Good luck to you my friend on that, indeed the drum has to come out but you would be better off getting in a local engineer to do it :haier:
Check in “Directories” to see if we have a local recommended firm in your ‘Postcode District’ to save all the hassle 🙂

Thanks – it took a little while – and quite awkward to hold the whole thing to gether while putting the drum back in but seemed to go fine and is now working OK. Just don’t forget to re-attach the sensor cable like I did or that part won’t work 😳 . Fortunately just another couple of minutes with the top off can fix that 😉
